Bo Zhao is a Research Fellow at the Security, Technology and e-Privacy (STeP) Research Group of the European and Economic Law Department of the Faculty of Law at the University of Groningen in The Netherlands. Dr. Zhao is a native Chinese and is a legal philosopher by training. His research fields include: a. Chinese Privacy Law and Defamation Law, Chinese Data Protection Law, Law development in China; b. General Privacy Law and Defamation Law in theory and in practice; Comparative Data Protection Law, and Internet Governance. In STeP he is responsible for research work on the EU-funded project MAPPING (Managing Alternatives for Privacy, Property, and Internet Governance).
