Ian is an Engineer by profession with love for Sound (music production) and Software Engineering. He grew up in a town that is east of Zimbabwe called Mutare. His siblings and he, all 5, were raised single-handedly by a loving and very supportive woman who made them believe that anything they put in their minds is achievable. She was right! He is a team member of a small group of innovative and creative heads working on what they call "The NatiV Project" - NatiV standing for Native Voice. The team is developing an app that helps young Zimbabweans learn how to read Shona, a native Zimbabwean language. It also advocates for the preservation of native languages through ICT, and their use in day-to-day learning, as there is research to prove that this improves scholar grades. The app is also targeted towards a special group of people, those with learning disabilities ie. dyslectic. It offers a fun and interactive way to learn to read, at the same time giving attention to the special needs of a person with a learning disorder. Although it's still under construction, the website is: http://mynativ.com where Ian hopes you will be able to find some more insightful information.
