Mr. AlShatti is a career specialist in the field of Information Technology and considered regionally one of the known experts in this field.  Currently he is a board member of Kuwait Information Technology Society (KITS) an NGO based in Kuwait which focuses on advocacy issues related to ICT and the Internet. Mr. Alshatti is actively involved in activities related to Internet Governance since the World Summit for Information Society (WSIS). He served as a member of the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) established by the General Secretary of the United Nation (from the period 2006 to 2014). During his participation in the IGF, he organized and participated as a panelist in several workshops and main sessions. He is also member of the High Level Advisory Group of the UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development. Regionally, He played a key role in initiating the Arab Internet Governance Forum (Arab IGF) in cooperation with other stakeholders in the Arab region and headed KITS organization committee to host the First Arab IGF held in Kuwait in October 2012. Mr. AlShatti was also the chairman of Arab IGF MAG for two years (2012-2013).
