Ahmet Hamdi Atalay was born in Trabzon in 1963. He is a graduate of Yıldız Technical University from the deparment of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering in 1984. He started his career in TELETAŞ as a Design engineer in 1985 and then became a Quality engineer in 1987 at NETAŞ. He served as Wireless systems manager between 1998-2004 at NETAŞ- Nortel Networks. He continued his career as a Board Member at the Information and Communications Technologies Authority (ICTA) between 2004-2009.

He currently serving as the Executive Board Member at NETAŞ,  the Board Member at KRON and HAVELSAN, and the President at the Information Security Association (BGD).
