Alejandro Pisanty is Professor at UNAM, the National University of Mexico, and Chair of ISOC Mexico (chapter of the Internet Society.) He has experience in IT, IT operations, Internet operations, Internet governance, computing, e-learning, and quantum/theoretical/computational Chemistry. He has been a member of the ICANN Board of Directors (1999-2007) and of the Board of Trustees of the Internet Society (2008-2011), as well as of the WGIG (Working Group on Internet Governance, 2003-2005), the IGF MAG, the Stability, Security and Resilience of the DNS Review Team (SSR-RT) and more recently the Strategy Panel on ICANN's Role in the Internet Governance Ecosystem. He co-lead the successful #InternetNecesario campaign in Mexico in 2009, which put respect for the Internet firmly in the public agenda.
