Giovanni Battista Amendola is Vice President, Head of Relations with International Authorities at Telecom Italia. He is responsible for Telecom Italia’s regulatory and competition policies at the European and international level. He is also responsible for the regulatory and antitrust support to South American companies controlled by Telecom Italia. He is member of the Chief Regulatory Officer Group at GSMA, of the International Editorial Board of Communications & Strategies and of the Advisory Council of the Florence School of Regulation. Before joining Telecom Italia, he worked at Wind Telecomunicazioni, as Head of Regulatory Strategy and International Affairs, and at ENEA (Italian Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Environment). He earned a Ph.D. in Science and Technology Policy Studies at the University of Sussex, and a M.A. in Statistics at La Sapienza University in Rome. He has published extensively on issues related to technological change, industrial economics and regulatory policy.
