As an active participant with decentralised web / standards development works; i've started to establish a global initiative entitled 'Web Civics'.

WebCivics is about engaging communities and supporting the development of a free software foundation for decentralised web-usage, supporting the identity and civics needs of individuals, whilst educating by supporting public discourse in regard to the policy and opportunity matrix surrounding individuals through their use of web-technology.

My professional background includes an interest in 'semantic web' technologies and projects since 2000. Roles in supporting NFP and commercial projects throughout the start-up sector, with a subject matter specialisation within the field of Digital Media and telecoms (VOD, IPTV, HybridTV, Digital Cinema, RTSP, Video Conferencing, Events etc.) and the development of start-ups, generally in relation to the ICT sector; from concept to autonomy.

I'm passionate about the development of the Knowledge Economy, believing that in future we will be supported through market-based mechanisms, delivering knowledge-banking services governed sovereignly, interconnected economically, empowered via open web-standards and decentralised authentication mechanisms.
